Our Visit to Ilaje Community, Lagos

When ISK visited the Ilaje community in Lagos, Nigeria, we came with more than supplies — we came with intention.

Poverty and vulnerability are deeply rooted in this coastal area, where thousands of families live in difficult conditions. In July 2024, our team conducted a targeted outreach program delivering essential food items, children’s clothing, and personal hygiene kits to women and children in the community.

But the real magic was in the human connection: mothers sharing tears of relief, children smiling wide as they received toys and snacks, and volunteers listening with love and dignity.

“You didn’t just bring food. You brought back hope,” said Mama Ajoke, a widow raising four grandchildren.

This visit deepened our commitment to urban underserved communities and reminded us why we do what we do — to serve intentionally, restore dignity, and build bridges of love.
